Just Landed! Getting from the airport to campus
Ready to start your adventure at Chatham? Getting to campus is the first step, and we’re here to help!
What you’ll see when you land✈️
Chatham’s Shadyside campus is located approximately 30 minutes from the airport by car or an hour by bus. It is best to leave yourself plenty of extra time to arrive on campus in case of traffic or other transport complications. Traffic tends to get very backed up on the way into the city.
Bus
The Pittsburgh Regional Transit (PRT) bus service from the airport is one of the most affordable and reliable ways to get here. The 28X - Airport Flyer service operates to and from the Pittsburgh International Airport twice an hour, from 4 a.m. until midnight, seven days a week. It is easy to map your commute via bus using Apple Maps, Google Maps, or Transit apps. It will take you directly from the airport to right outside campus. Just exit the bus at the Fifth Ave opposite College St. stop and proceed up Woodland Rd, which will lead you directly to campus.
The one-way fare to and from Pittsburgh International Airport is $2.75. Fares are easily paid upon boarding the bus, using either tap pay (Google Pay, Apple Pay, tap card, etc.), cash, or ConnectCard. There is also a ticket vending machine located at baggage claim in the airport.
It’s worth noting that once you receive your student ID at orientation, all Chatham students have free access to all regional transit. Just tap your student ID upon boarding!
Rideshare Apps
Another option that students might find to be more flexible are rideshare apps, such as Uber or Lyft. Fares for these rides vary, but they are almost always available from the airport. Your driver will pick you up outside baggage claim and drop you off directly at campus.
To be dropped off in the center of campus at the chapel, provide your driver this address: 210 Chapel Hill Rd, Pittsburgh, PA 15232
Here are directions from the airport to campus:
From the airport, take Route 60 toward Pittsburgh. Route 60 will become I-376.
From the right lane, exit to I-376 towards Monroeville.
Follow I-376 to exit 74 - Squirrel Hill.
Merge to the extreme left and follow the exit ramp to the left (toward Squirrel Hill). Proceed to the multiway intersection (Forward and Murray Avenues) and bear left onto Murray Avenue.
Turn right on Wilkins and within one-half block turn left onto Woodland Road, which leads directly to campus.
